Founded in 2001 and based in Beijing, HHS International Cultural Exchange Center keeps ahead by being the first and largest Au pair agency in China. As a member of International Au Pair Association (IAPA) and the World Youth Student & Educational Travel Confederation (WYSE), we are dedicated to promoting international cultural exchange by offering a wide variety of flexible programs to young people from China and overseas.

HHS refers to our motto of: “Hand in Hand, Heart to Heart Services”,
In 2001 we created www.abcdvbbs.net, now the largest source of information for Chinese students studying in Germany. The founder of HHS Center was himself a student in Germany and wanted to share his experiences with other students abroad. From these intercultural and personal experiences grew the concept of an agency promoting an extensive and mutual cultural exchange.

We created the Chinese term for Au Pair 互惠生(Hù Hùi Shēng). At first we helped Chinese au pairs go overseas and some years ago we extended our program range to overseas互惠生come to China. From that very start, we realized a growing interest from young people all over the world to come to China for a wide range of interests. Language studies, Internships, Volunteer work, Homestay, we created a comprehensive variety of programs in order to cover the possibilities of different cultures meeting on a personal level.

We have built a network of six branches in some of the most significant cities in China and working together with our overseas partners. This allows us to provide services to participants conveniently and effectively. We are constantly recruiting families that are interested in hosting a foreign au pair. We are applying very strict standards in the families we finally bring in contact with participants. Only well-educated families are qualified, who are able to offer participants a convenient home, including a private room, internet connection and living conditions according to western European standards. All of them are speaking English and are familiar with a western life style.
We built up excellent contacts throughout the different branches of the Chinese business world and we are able to provide internship placements in major international and Chinese companies for students, graduates or young professionals. We offer a range of programs with different packages of services. In every case we take individual care for participants, make sure that the position is fitting in the resume and help with all the necessary arrangements.

In our Beijing Office, a young and international team is dedicated to help participants to make their way to China and to make the most of their time here. We are all aware that it is still a big step to come to China and try to immerse in the Chinese society and we have a broad experience concerning the fears, the typical problems and the best ways to handle these. From the first contact on, we sincerely do our very best to answer every question, remove all obstacles and personally care about our participants. In order to minimize the “Cultural shock”, we arrange orientation classes at the very beginning of the program and we give extensive information about the main differences between the cultures, starting with orientation in the new city, public transport, food and everyday’s rules of politeness to important dos and don’ts in China. Language classes and cultural activities continue this insight and of course the immersion in a Chinese family will provide a deep insight in the Chinese culture, which no theoretical education will be able to grant.
We are well aware that a service like this is based on mutual trust and we will make every possible effort to ensure that nobody ever will be disappointed from our agency or feel lost in China. A 24/7 hotline will be available for all of our participants and we will always be willing to help in every possible situation.
