Legal Help is the government body responsible for assigning defense lawyers for defendants. The body was established by the Australian govt t help people from low-income earning families and communities.
The organization employs more than 50 solicitors and barristers who represent clients in all criminal and civil cases. Legal aid is a federal organization which means it has branches all over Australia.

Interns will be assisting with case preparations, researching legal issues and actually attending cases in court and assisting the court room barristers with file preparation and note taking during court procedures. Interns may also participate in interviewing clients and analysing legal evidence.
