Operations of nutrex include Hazardous and Liquid Waste Collection, Packaging and Documentation of Wastes, Waste Treatment Processing, Disposal, De-watering, Solvent Refining, Waste Oil Recycling, Research and Development, Recycling and product sales. The wastes that are treated at the two plants cover entire spectrum of industrial and commercial wastes found in New Zealand. Their processes are tailored so that complete destruction of wastes in a safe and environmentally sustainable fashion can be guaranteed and so that wastes can be tracked from collection through destruction to ultimate disposal of neutralised residues. Nutrex Environmental collects wastes from all types of industries throughout New Zealand for disposal. Their hazardous waste processing sites located in Wellington and Auckland are integrated with a collection network providing nationwide service to their customers. The Company operates a fleet of vacuum trucks - ranging in capacity from 6500 litres to 21,000 litres with trailer units. These are despatched to collect waste material on a regular contract, casual and emergency basis. These vehicles are available 24 hours of the day if the need arises. The material is drawn into the truck by an integral vacuum pump. The trucks transport the waste material and directly discharge into the appropriate quarantine or treatment system. The Company also operates a packaged waste collection service with either its own or subcontracted vehicles. Recycling is a key service that is offered to customers, particularly those that require solvents for cleaning. Recycling waste solvents into refined, usable solvents can offer significant savings to solvent customers. Nutrex Environmental operates solvent refining plants at both of its sites and supplies refined solvents and blends to the New Zealand market. In addition to the recycling of solvents, Nutrex Environmental also recycles waste oil in a chemi-physical process to produce marketable fuel oil.
