Bolivien ist den meisten Europäern nicht so bekannt wie beispielsweise Brasilien oder Argentinien. Nichts desto trotz lohnt es sich mal einen näheren Blick auf das lateinamerikanische Land zu werfen. Bolivien ist nach dem südamerikanischen Unabhängigkeitskämpfer Simón Bolívar benannt, der Nationalheld und Unabhängigkeitskämpfer vieler südamerikanischer Länder ist. Bolivien hat keinen direkten Zugang zum Meer und ist somit ein Binnenstaat, der von den Ländern Peru, Chile, Argentinien, Brasilien und Paraguay umschlossen wird. Bolivien ist ein Andenstaat mit Bergspitzen über 6.500 Meter. Hauptstadt ist entgegen vieler Vermutungen nicht La Pas, wo sich der Regierungssitz befindet, sondern Sucre. La Pas ist aber mit ca 1,6 Mio. Einwohnern im Gesamtgebiet größte Stadt vor Santa Cruz de la Sierra (mit 1.1 Mio.). Bolivien hat zur zeit ca. 10 Mio. Einwohner. Nahezu 70% der Bevölkerung gehören indigen Völkern an, 27% sind Mestizen (Nachfahren von indigen Völkern mit Weißen) und nur 3% der Bevölkerung sind weiße Nachkommen der Kolonialisten. Der Tourismus ist langsam dabei sich zu entwickeln, wichtigste Wirtschaftsfaktoren sind aber nach wie vor die Landwirtschaft und der Bergbau.

Our partner school in Sucre is located in the heart of the city, just one block from the main plaza and close to virtually everything of interest.

Classes take place both in the morning and afternoons. The school has a capacity of about 40 students. Normally half of the students hail from North America, and the other half from Europe.

The school building boasts 15 classrooms, 2 interior patios, a small sun-drenched roof patio, a kitchen, 2 common rooms, free internet, an entertainment room, and a lovely cafeteria, El Café Quito.

• Intensive group course: 20 group classes per week
• Super-intensive group course: 20 group classes plus 10 one to one classes per week
• One to One course: 20 clases per week
• Activa Spanish: 20 group classes plus 15 hours of activities per week
• Volunteer program: 4 weeks Spanish course minimum plus 4 weeks minimum volunteer work.

Classes are either in the morning or in the afternoon; each with a 30 minute break in between.

All the teachers are experienced in teaching Spanish as a second language and all have official accreditation to teach Spanish. Our teachers love teaching and are here to help you become as advanced in Spanish as possible.

To help you continue your immersion in the local language and culture, our partner school in Sucre offers a stay with a local host family.

You’ll enjoy a single room with half board in the home of a Bolivian family.

The school offers 2-3 organized activities every week. We also provide a daily schedule of cultural events in Sucre and its surrounding areas including theatres, museums, and festivals as well as tickets prices.

Weekend trips: The school organizes trips once every 15 days and is always ready to help arrange more activities on the weekends.
