Playo Jacó:

• A jewel of Central America, Costa Rica is an oasis of calm, a haven for ecotourism and one of the best places to learn Spanish. Costa Rica is located in Central America, bordering with Nicaragua to the north, Panama to the south-southeast, the Pacific Ocean to the west and south, and the Caribbean Sea to the east.
• Playa Jacó, located on Costa Rica’s central Pacific coast, is a legendary surfing city hosting frequent international surf contests and offering what many consider the best tourism infrastructure on Costa Rica's Pacific Coast.
• Playa Jacó is a full service beach town with shops, restaurants, clubs and accommodations all conveniently located near the water. Every year the city attracts more international travelers, drawn by its stunning natural location and lively nightlife.

Our partner school in Playa Jacó is located in a quiet residential neighborhood, seven blocks from one of Costa Rica's best Pacific beaches. The school features a 1000 square meter tropical garden, a terrace and a small swimming pool. You'll find restaurants, grocery stores, calling and internet centers, drugstores and bicycle shops all within walking distance  Facilities include 4 indoor classrooms, an outdoor patio used for classes, 3 bathrooms and a kitchen area. Students have free internet access from 9:30am to 2pm.

• Intensive group course: 20 group classes per week
• Intensive Combination (20 + 10) course: 20 group classes + 10 private classes per week
• One to One course: 10 classes per week
• Volunteer program

Classes are held from Monday to Friday from 8:30 to 12:00 with a 30-minute coffee break at 10:00.

Our partner school in Playa Jacó boasts a highly experienced and qualified teaching staff specially trained in the teaching of Spanish to foreigners and technology assisted education. The program is founded on the Common European Framework (levels A1 -C2), as are the courses at our own don Quijote schools.

To help you improve your Spanish speaking skills and your knowledge of the culture, our partner school offers you home stay with a local family in a single or double room with half board. Playa Jacó also offers upgraded home stay with private bath and private apartments with no meal plan.

The school organizes free time activities for students during the week.

Regular activities include:

• Latin Dance classes (2 hours) on Tuesdays 
• Costa Rican Fruit and Costa Rican Cooking classes on Wednesdays
• Guided hike in Jacó mountains every other Thursday
• Special excursions every first and third Thursdays, such as visits to the nearby National Parks
• Bicycle rental (available at the school every day)
• Guided tour of Playa Jacó for new students on Mondays
• Film on Mondays
